  • General Membership is the easiest way to get access to TVM equipment. General Members (GMs) can work on any TVM project, pitch their own projects to TVM, and get approval to use TVM equipment for personal projects. If you're looking for a place to start with TVM or video production, General Membership is for you!.

    Become a General Member by attending one of our many TVM General Member training sessions, which will be held throughout each semester. For more details, contact TVM's VP internal at [email protected].

  • Producers are encouraged to explore as many aspects of production as they would like throughout their time at TVM. Producers may engage in all elements of production, from planning to cinematography, costumes, design, etc. and working with editors. A producer may choose to focus their time at TVM on a specific aspect of production (like costuming or set design).

    All Producers can pitch, produce and/or work on videos in any area of filmmaking!

  • Editors are encouraged to explore as many aspects of post-production and production as they would like throughout their time at TVM. Editors have access to the TVM Editing Computers and the full Adobe and Apple suite of editing applications. Editors can either work with producers or by themselves on any project they would like so long as they relate to TVM.

    All Editors can pitch, produce and/or work on videos in any category/ area of filmmaking!

  • TVM’s Administrative team is comprised of both Admin (President, VPs Internal/External/Equity, Executive Producer, and Chief Editor) and Leadership (I.T. Director, Tech Director, Graphics Coordinator, and Music Composer).

    TVM’s Admin is the administrative board that oversees the operations of the service. The Admin is responsible for ensuring the Constitution and Bylaws are adhered to and respected, and have the responsibility of making impactful decisions for the future of TVM. The Admin is also responsible for ensuring student funds are appropriately and effectively allocated, and for monitoring the work of all members of the Exec. Admin Members should be organized and motivated, and have solid communication and interpersonal skills.  

    TVM’s Leadership Team is the backbone operations of the service, overseeing all daily production and the support needed for production to happen. These positions require strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and great time management abilities. They should be self-motivated and willing to take initiative.

    Hiring for Admin positions are typically held towards the end of the winter semester. Keep an eye out on social media and Listservs for admin hiring, and don’t hesitate to drop by admin office hours to learn more!

  • Contract Members are short-term members of TVM who have specialized equipment access and only work on one project. Contract Membership is perfect for student organizations with specific media coverage needs or individuals who only need TVM equipment for a specific project. This position is created on-demand and expires once the project is finished.
